Period! Yes Period.

This word “Period” brings shame to some families as they classify it as a great Family “Taboo”. For this reason, it is not “openly” addressed in families. As mother’s they have to secretly tell to their daughters — how to use pads, and how to keep yourself during periods. Basically, its a secret between mother’s and daughter’s.

Life of a girl is exquisite yet it is not considered. A stain brings fear, distress, worry and anxiety. A fear of what other’s think?, fear of walking on streets with period dye and mainly fear of male friends — gossip. During my early days of period, I used to get early school break every month. Every month a male used to pick me up from school. In the beginning, they used to ask me the reason of early school break and they buy me hot drinks to ease my pain. As time passes — they became more supportive and helpful, they provide all materials, love and care that every female needs during her period. I feel very lucky — thanks to my super-MOM.

In many countries, women are not given genuine love and care during their period. It all starts at home — bring it on dinning table and discuss openly like other subject. Women are very precious — they give a new life. It’s a time for a change and that is — to change your thoughts. Due to lack of understanding and not addressing this “openly” causes death of many young woman.
